Job Summary

The Financial Partner is responsible for providing financial oversight for the Information & Technology Business Unit (BU). This position provides financial insights to build an improved business model, proactively driving value through informed and insightful decision-making, fostering a culture of cost consciousness, control, simplification, and continuous improvement.

Main Responsibilities

Finance - 100%

\xc2\xb7 Budget, forecast and analyze capital and operating expenses

\xc2\xb7 Prepare year-end outlook (YEO) based on actual results and spending trends, and drive cost improvements with support from senior financial partners

\xc2\xb7 Prepare and distribute monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports on expenditures and key performance metrics, including various analysis as required

o Monitor, analyze and explain monthly operating results against budget and forecast

o Preparation and distribution of financial reports to BU, taxation and Accounting Property

o Preparation of financial outlooks and financial forecasts

o Manage changes/transfers within the Operating and Capital budgets

o Ensure effective controls are in place for SOX and GAAP compliancy

\xc2\xb7 Perform balance sheet account reconciliations

\xc2\xb7 Participate in contract renewals

\xc2\xb7 Manage accrued liabilities in compliance with corporate accounting rules

\xc2\xb7 Prepare business cases, benefits identification and quantification and ROI analysis

\xc2\xb7 Proactively review and implement new processes triggered by new accounting pronouncements and new systems

Working Conditions

The role has standard working conditions with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday and will currently be eligible to participate in our flexible work from home policy. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure and manage stress.

Finance

o Experience in budgeting, forecasting, preparing business cases and productivity reports

o Accounting experience in journal entries, account reconciliations, and preparing financial reports

o Experience working in a CN business unit*

Education/Certification/Designation

\xc2\xb7 Bachelor\'s Degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Business

\xc2\xb7 Master\'s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or working towards*

\xc2\xb7 Charted Professional Accountant (CPA) or working towards*
