IT Business Partner

Alberta Innovates (AI) is seeking an IT Business Partner to support the team and organization with project and program implementation. The successful incumbent will be working directly with client groups and vendors while engaging with IT team members to support the organization and executing the achievement of the IT team\xe2\x80\x99s goals.

Job Details

Reporting to the Manager, Business Solutions the IT Business Partner will play an integral role in the IT department to design and implement services and technologies that are valuable to our stakeholders. The successful incumbent will be accountable for (but not limited to) the following:

• Full cycle project management including:

• Developing business cases and proposals
• Defining requirements including; budget, resources and scheduling
• Identifying, communicating and mitigating risks
• Tracking and reporting
• Effectively managing project teams
• Successful execution of projects on time and within budget
• Encouraging and supporting the adoption of digital processes and technologies
• Identifying areas where IT is able to assist with improvement through the use of technical applications
• Collaborating and negotiating with organizational leaders and stakeholders
• Documenting system requirements and business processes in a clear manner

Qualifications and skills we are looking for:

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related discipline
• Possess or are working towards a Project Management Professional (PMP) or ScrumMaster certification is preferred
• Experience with Business Relationship Management processes and concepts is considered an asset
• Minimum 5 years prior Information Technology experience in a similar role
• Developed Project Management Skills through execution of multidisciplinary, multiplatform IT or related projects
• Ability to quickly develop strong partnerships between people in business and technical roles
• Dedicated, self-motivated, and results oriented person who can interact effectively with all levels of the organization
• Strong verbal, written, listening and interpersonal skills to convey concepts and information that both business and technical staff can understand.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, tasks, priorities and commitments at one time
• Demonstrated interest in advancing knowledge of technology and its application to solving business and organizational issues
• Ability to quickly learn business processes, showcasing patience while learning but asking questions as to why things are done a certain way
• Understand and showcase the ability to develop test cases and plans, test systems from both the functional and business level documenting issues, opportunities for improvement and basic \xe2\x80\x9chow to\xe2\x80\x9d scenarios
• Ability to be a strong change advocate, by developing and leveraging strategies to drive organizational change
• Ability to produce results, while ensuring business and technical partnerships remain intact
• Highly developed trouble-shooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and change
