Our Position

The Vice President IBEX & IT is a key leadership role within AstraZeneca Canada. Reporting to the Country President Canada, this VP role leads, directs and motivates four key teams of diverse expertise to drive elements of commercial innovation and operations across all Business Units inclusive of CVRM (Cardiovascular, Renal & Metabolic), R&I (Respiratory and Immunology), ONC (Oncology) and V&I (Vaccines and Immune Therapies). This role also is accountable to partner with all key functions across the enterprise and acts as a key integrator of many change leadership or commercial delivery priorities. They are a core member of the AZ Canada Executive Team upholding all responsibilities of that team driving the commercial and workplace success of AZ Canada and representing the department of ~50 people and roles activating the corporate strategy through the team. Ultimately this role is responsible to develop and drive critical initiatives across core commercial operations, simplification, BU delivery as well as serve as a catalyst for driving go to market innovation across AZ Canada spanning these four key pillars of accountability in the department:

Digital Innovation and Marketing Excellence

Define and bring to life the digital and go to market innovation agenda for AZC

Act as a strategic partner to brand teams to solve go to market challenges with innovation and technology solutions

Uphold Product Owner accountabilities for the suite of MarTech systems eg Adobe Campaign, Experience Manager, Tealium

Lead all operational aspects of omnichannel marketing, collaborating closely with key global functions to deliver omni campaigns and marketing innovation

Lead the marketing capability building agenda across all four BUs

Lead the key marketing operations accountabilities across all four BUs \xe2\x80\x93 SOPs, core training, key supplier relationships and service delivery for any market operations aspect done \xe2\x80\x98one AZ way\xe2\x80\x99

Analytics and Data Excellence

Define and bring to life the analytics and data strategy for AZC

Uphold and deliver best in class Data Management Capabilities \xe2\x80\x93 Data Governance, Data operations etc

Establish a strong data reporting environment, manage all key vendor relationships (IQVIA as the key vendor), support all key BU reporting needs as well as data innovation

Drive the advanced analytics agenda moving the enterprise capability from descriptive and diagnostic data solutions for the commercial entity to predictive and prescriptive solutions

Build and maintain a strong team of analysts partnering directly with all key brand teams

Sales Excellence and Capability Development

Define and bring to life the sales operations and sales excellence capabilities across the Business Units

Strategic thought leadership for the Commercial Innovation team driving the CRM agenda as well as Product Owner accountabilities for all key Sales systems and processes

Drive the Commercial Operations function running core commercial processes that are done \xe2\x80\x98one AZ way\xe2\x80\x99 as well as upholding accountability for key vendors eg BOND meeting management, Annual Reward trip vendors, Sutherland Field support team etc

Build and maintain a strong team of Sales Capabilities/Training development partners that work directly with all key brand teams and associated sales teams supporting key launches as well as other related brand driven sales training needs

Uphold the Selling model and all above brand sales capabilities programs, bringing the AZ sales teams skill building agenda to life

Information Technology

Define and bring to life the IT business partnering strategy and delivery of the IT portfolio of technology solutions

Build and maintain a strong team of IT professionals that partner across all BUs to understand the tech and systems requirements and deliver innovative solutions

Uphold the IT security agenda protecting AZ Canada from security risks and ensuring strong training is maintained

Effectively partner across the global network of IT functions to ensure the needs of the Canadian business are prioritized

Drive the innovation agenda for systems and technology through keen understanding of the business needs, the external environment and global and local solutions available

The main accountabilities will include:

Key Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree

Minimum of 7 years Pharmaceutical industry experience with strong record of senior commercial roles

Preferable to have Sales and/or Marketing experience and cross-functional experience

Expertise leading large enterprise change projects is an asset

Prior Executive Team experience is an asset

Key Skills and Competencies:

Excellent communicator, demonstrated success in communicating to large audiences, strong presentation skills

Excellent problem solving skills with ability to apply sound judgement

Strong relationship building and relationship management skills, high integrity orientation

Strong persuading, influencing, negotiating and consultation skills

Demonstrated business knowledge in a market is required, expertise in global corporate settings an asset

Some minor travel will be required for the role
