Job Description


The Finance Manager will play a key role at Stacktics, where we create and maintain industry-leading services and technologies to empower enterprises in the worlds of Data Analytics, Marketing Technology and Strategy, and Cloud Computing. Purpose: Fulfill financial and accounting responsibilities of the operations of Stacktics Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting

  • Prepare financial statements monthly, quarterly, and annual financial as per ASPE reporting criteria for both internal and external use.
  • Take ownership of the entire month-end process:
  • Work with Project managers on percentage of completion and budget consumptions metrics and provide clarification where needed.
  • Prepare and maintain transfer pricing policy with current and future legal structure.
  • Lead all operational and financial reporting functions
Financial Planning and Analysis
  • Lead the Financial planning and analysis (FP&A) function of the company, annual budgeting, quarterly forecast.
  • Manage data collection for forecast preparation and actual reporting of cash flow.
  • Provide insights, cost studies, and financial expertise to help company leadership develop long term strategies.
  • Participate in company compensation strategy and provide support on various scenario outcomes.
  • Work with business partners on business cases, prepare 5 year forecasts on product investment plan, pricing, and research on GTM options.
  • Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis as requested.
Financial Operations
  • Improve and maintain billing and invoicing processes, reducing timelines between work completion and payment receipt from customers
  • Maintain cost accounting and margin reporting
  • Managing corporations working capital for short term and long-term funding requirements.
  • Review and ensure payroll compliance while acting as a backup to payroll processing. 
  • Support any monthly, quarterly, and annual financial audit process serving as liaison to external auditors
  • Review of service contracts and ensure agreements are in alignment with company expectation
  • Provide guidance and improvement plans for operational workflows. Reduce administrative time, while ensuring integrations of all tech stack with department functions.
Tax Planning & Execution
  • Ensure tax compliance by performing detailed review and preparation of periodic returns. (T2, Sales returns, Payroll taxes)
  • Work with an external accounting firm with tax planning and identify and explain tax implications of decisions made by organization.
  • Lead annual SR&ED initiatives and prepare SR&ED filing for external accounting firms to process.
  • Provide ad-hoc tax support to main shareholders
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proven working experience as a controller, assistant controller or finance manager
  • 5+ years of overall accounting and finance experience, with a minimum of 2 years of experience as a functional financial leader or equivalent experience
  • Experience working within consulting, marketing and/or technology organizations
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a high-energy environment
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience with creating financial statements and reports
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
  • Excellent accounting software user and administrative skills. Experience with Xero a plus
  • Must be able to clearly communicate and articulate thoughts, ideas, and plans
  • Must be able to clearly and effectively read, write and communicate in English
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required with high Excel proficiency
  • Ability to make recommendations to effectively address issues using judgment consistent with Company standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation and government law
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Demonstrated ability to manage several priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain the highest level of confidentiality
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively identify, analyze and solve problems
Education:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in accounting or equivalent experience
  • CPA (Chartered Accountant, CGA or CMA) a plus
