Position Overview:
The
Field Installation Technician
is responsible for supporting dealers and end users with the
installation, commissioning, and setup
of our hydraulic attachments. The role involves extensive travel (approximately
75% of the time
) to customer and dealer locations throughout Canada and occasionally the U.S. and Europe.
This position focuses on
technical assistance and system optimization
, not heavy mechanical work. However, the technician should be comfortable assisting dealers hands-on when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide
on-site technical support
during installation and commissioning of hydraulic attachments.
Assist dealers with
hydraulic setup
, including verifying flow, pressure, and return line specifications.
Support integration with the
excavator's electronic control system
, ensuring proper communication and function.
Conduct
system testing, troubleshooting, and performance validation
to confirm proper installation.
Collaborate with the
engineering and production teams
to communicate field feedback and recommend improvements.
Prepare and submit detailed
service and installation reports
.
Provide
basic training
to dealer technicians on setup, operation, and maintenance procedures.
Represent the company professionally in all customer interactions, ensuring a high level of satisfaction.
Maintain company tools, diagnostic equipment, and vehicle in good working condition.
Qualifications:
Between 5-10 years of experience in that position.
Technical diploma or equivalent experience in
hydraulics, mechatronics, or heavy equipment technology
.
Strong understanding of
hydraulic systems, circuits, and controls
.
Familiarity with
excavator systems and CAN bus communication
is a strong asset.
Ability to read and interpret
hydraulic and electrical schematics
.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in the field.
Strong communication skills and customer-focused attitude.
Valid passport and driver's license; ability to travel extensively (3 weeks per month).
Experience with diagnostic tools, flow meters, and pressure gauges preferred.
Assets:
Somebody based in Montreal, GTA, or close from an airport will be prioritized.
English mandatory, French will be considered an asset.
