The Role:
As a Field Support Technician, you'll be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunications equipment and systems, ensuring customers receive the best possible service. This role is ideal for someone who is not only technically skilled but also passionate about leading by example, solving problems, and sharing knowledge. Your experience with fiber-optic systems will make you a key player in expanding and upgrading our services with advanced fiber technology.
Key Responsibilities:
Install and configure fiber-optic systems and equipment for customers, always striving to set a high standard for excellence and accuracy.
Install, test, and maintain telecommunications equipment such as routers, modems, switches, and other related devices, sharing best practices and troubleshooting techniques with colleagues.
Troubleshoot network issues and perform repairs as needed, taking initiative to share solutions that enhance team knowledge and improve service.
Ensure all installations comply with industry standards and safety regulations, guiding newer team members in best practices and setting a standard for quality and safety.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing technical questions, resolving concerns, and demonstrating a commitment to customer satisfaction that aligns with Purple Cow's values.
Collaborate with team members to improve processes and service efficiency, contributing to discussions that help enhance the customer experience and build team skills.
Document installations, repairs, and customer interactions clearly and accurately, helping to create records that benefit the entire team in ongoing learning and development.
Qualifications:
Proven experience with fiber installations, maintenance, and repair.
Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a talent for teaching and supporting teammates.
Strong understanding of telecommunications systems, networks, and equipment, including hands-on troubleshooting skills.
Familiarity with industry safety standards and procedures, with a focus on leading by example.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally.
Essential Skills:
Experience with fiber-optic technology and installation.
Certifications in telecommunications or related fields.
Knowledge of signal testing tools and network management software.
