Job Description


A career in our Credit and Incentives practice, within State and Local Tax services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients solve their business issues related to business restructuring, adoption of new tax laws, and communicating local tax developments. You\xe2\x80\x99ll help with assessing our client\xe2\x80\x99s state and local tax burden and recommend solutions that support their overall business objectives to ensure that their filling positions are consistent with good business practices and with the states applicable tax laws and rules. Our team helps our clients create a proactive and value added credits and incentives programme, utilising elements that provide information, analysis, tracking, and communications. You\xe2\x80\x99ll help our clients identify federal and state tax credits and incentives for their industry, quantify and qualify the potential tax opportunities, and increase eligible tax credits and economic incentives based on a payroll data analysis. Sitting within our Credits and Incentives practice, our ESG specialists work on green grants and incentives, carbon markets, and related carbon inventory and assurance topics. We are a strong and dedicated team of professionals with science, technical, tax accounting, and financial backgrounds.   • This role has the option of being based out of our Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, or Toronto offices.
Purpose-led work you\xe2\x80\x99ll be part of As an ESG Carbon Analysis Manager, you\'ll work with a team of professionals to help our clients with their carbon modeling scenarios. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • You are familiar with typical heavy industrial processes occurring at mines, pulp and paper mills, sawmills, cement plants, refineries, oil and gas facilities, or other similar manufacturing environments
  • You are experience with developing nature based GHG inventories related to the forest and agriculture sector
  • You have experience with GHG inventories, calculation of carbon offsets, carbon pricing, and project economics
  • You keep up-to-date on changes in legislation, federal and provincial regulations, and administrative practices
  • You are familiar with international trends in terms of clean energy and carbon policies, incentives and financing
  • You have an intellectual curiosity and a desire for continuous learning
  • You have the demonstrated ability to ask the right questions and elicit relevant information from stakeholders
  • You are highly motivated, and will use your relationship development skills to network with and market our ESG services to existing and prospective clients
  • You have a proven client-service orientation and a demonstrated ability to understand different technologies and industries in your interactions with clients
  • You work well both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • You will use creative problem-solving skills to apply your understanding of regulatory frameworks to client opportunities and the skill and experience needed to lead client engagements
Experiences and skills you\xe2\x80\x99ll use to solve
  • A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences, developing and coaching diverse teams, and ensuring diverse perspectives are heard
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or Economics
  • At least 5 years of experience leading engagements/projects related to carbon policy and projects
  • Prior carbon modeling experience that includes development of automated workflows and analytical methods
  • Excellent project management skill and team building skill
  • Proven success with sales and relationship management
  • Strong client-service orientation focused on achieving high quality, timely and profitable results
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills combined with intellectual curiosity and creative problem-solving abilities
  • Work with carbon offset project development, credit registration and transaction preferred
  • Experience working in a consulting milieu preferred
