Who we need

We are looking for a Financial Planning and Analysis Manager to provide report-building expertise within your team and the company. You will guide and support financial and operational decision-making. You will thrive in an ambiguous environment, create theoretical "what if" models, and run sensitivity and risk scenarios, providing recommendations to ensure the business is stable and profitable.

What's in it for you
Growth, mentorship and collaboration. This is an opportunity to transition from a Senior Analyst role to Financial Management or to bring your expertise at the manager level to a company with purpose. It's a chance to apply your knowledge of multi-location and inter-provincial finance complexities to make an impact on the team and the function as we transition into a data-driven organization; fully automating our forecasting. You will be coached and guided, working alongside a team that enjoys what they do and helps each other.

As the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager, you will:

  • Optimize. You will work alongside the CFO to implement a new reporting system and automate our forecasting systems. You will recommend improvements to streamline existing business processes.
  • Manage. You will support and coach your team, ensuring quality work, identifying skills gaps, and growing their expertise.
  • Financial analysis. You will extract, analyze, and manipulate data and data forms. You will merge and analyze ambiguous data from disparate data sources and communicate findings in a summarized format. You will prepare, analyze and present monthly, quarterly and annual operating metrics and results for the regions/locations.
  • Reporting. You will identify and build financial reporting, including models and templates, using a documented, auditable, and logical process. You will ensure the timely and accurate generation of enterprise and ad hoc requests (internal & external) for analysis, data and information on a regular basis.
The successful Financial Planning and Analysis Manager will have:
  • Education and experience. A degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting and 3+ years in financial forecasting, modelling, margin improvement, analysis and reporting. You are highly analytical with the ability to plan for the unknown and respond to changes rapidly. You have well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. You are proficient with MS Excel, SQL, business intelligence, dashboard and reporting tools such as PowerBI, and an ERP such as Navision.
  • Project management skills. You are detail-oriented and meticulous. Your focus is accomplishing every milestone while ensuring processes are followed, and issues are proactively dealt with. You hold yourself accountable for your deliverables and the impact your role has on the success of the organization. You exude personal integrity, sound judgment, and ownership.
  • Interpersonal skills. You have professional written and verbal communication skills and the confidence to make presentations. You can build trusting relationships across any level of the organization, can influence decision-makers, and are quick to assist colleagues and customers alike. You can lead a team, earning respect rather than commanding it and offering mentorship, guidance, and support. You can balance personal confidence with an openness to new learning and constantly strive to improve.
