Primary Purpose University Canada West is looking to hire an experienced and versatile Email Marketing Specialist to join our award-winning in-house Marketing and Communications team. The candidate will be responsible for creating automated email campaigns including building creative mock-ups and layouts, content writing, editing, creating tracking links, testing for deployment and A/B testing. This position contributes to the overall digital marketing execution within the email channel to maximize customer response. The Email Marketing Specialist will play a key role in executing user-centric marketing drip campaigns. A successful candidate will possess UX skills, copywriting skills, project management skills, great attention to detail, and a passion for digital marketing. Success will be measured by email conversions, email engagement and click-through rates and open rates. The Email Marketing Coordinator will create customized and meaningful user experiences through email that promote long-term engagement. Specific Responsibilities

  • Work with the Digital Marketing Team to develop and implement comprehensive email marketing campaigns
  • Oversee creative development and implementation of new email templates and redesign of existing templates
  • Conduct A/B testing to optimize email campaigns
  • Generate reports and analytics on the success of email
  • Maintain a solid and reliable understanding of email marketing best practices, and regulations throughout North America (including CASL) and Global markets (including GDPR)
  • Work with Communications Team to write persuasive and accurate copy for emails, including captivating subject lines
  • Maintain the email marketing content calendar, and consider all key events and initiatives (both internal and external) when scheduling content for emails
  • Identify areas of opportunity and improvement in the email content creation and review process
  • Use web analytics and sales data to maximize sales conversion and optimize the user experience
  • Assist with weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting on all email marketing efforts, campaigns, and marketing initiatives
  • Assist with other day-to-day marketing activities as needed
Position Requirements Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in marketing (preferably with a digital focus)
  • Minimum of 2 years of digital marketing experience with a focus in email marketing, marketing automation technology and marketing analytics
  • Minimum of 1 year ecommerce experience
  • Ability to edit and code basic HTML/CSS, preferably with experience specific to email
  • Knowledge of segmentation and persona development
  • Experience with design programs, such as InDesign and Photoshop
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics or similar analytics tools
  • Experience with marketing automation platforms (e.g. Pardot, HubSpot, SalesForce Marketing Cloud, etc.)
  • Knowledge of project management software (e.g., Asana or Trello) an asset
  • Written and oral communication, attention to detail, and project management skills
  • Strong strategic and analytical thinking, risk analysis, problem-solving, customer-service, and organizational skills
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge and solid understanding of GDPR and CASL legislation
