Sturgeon Public School Division is currently seeking a qualified full-time, temporary Educational Assistant 2, for a work assignment with junior high students at our Namao School.


Namao School is located just minutes north of the cities of Edmonton and St. Albert. It serves Pre-K, Kindergarten and Grades 1 - 9, with an approximate total population of 400 students and 38 staff. Namao School fosters a safe and caring environment for students to learn and thrive in a close-knit school community. This assignment is subject to change based on operational requirements.

What You'll Be Doing

Support students under the direction of the classroom teacher Provide academic support to junior high students, with a focus on using assistive technology to enhance learning and engagement Provide assistance with positive behaviour programs, academic support, and classroom structure Encourage social, emotional, and behavioural growth Support classroom routines and transitions
Help foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

What You Bring

Educational Assistant or Early Childhood Diploma/Certificate Experience working with students who display behavioural CPR and First Aid certification Training or experience with Special Needs, Autism, and TCIS Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff Patience, empathy, and strong relationship-building skills Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
Clear Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check
