Sturgeon Public Schools is seeking a Full-Time Temporary Educational Assistant 2 for Sturgeon Composite High School, working with students in K&E.


One of Alberta's largest rural high schools, Sturgeon Composite High School, is located just minutes north of Edmonton and St. Albert. The school serves approximately 950 students in Grades 10-12 and offers a wide range of programming, including academics, arts, Career and Technology Studies, Knowledge & Employability (K&E), and Special Education. With a strong sense of community and a welcoming environment, Sturgeon Composite prepares students for future success through meaningful programs, engaging activities, and dedicated staff collaboration.


This assignment may be adjusted as needed to support school operations.

What You'll Be Doing

Provide support to students under the direction of the classroom teacher Assist students with academic, social, and behavioural learning needs Use technology confidently to support instruction and student learning Encourage student engagement and motivation through positive interactions Support classroom routines, structure, and organization
Foster a safe, inclusive, and caring environment for all students

What You Bring

Educational Assistant or Teacher's Aide Diploma/Certificate CPR, First Aid, and TCIS (assets) Experience supporting high school students, particularly those with behavioural needs Knowledge of behaviour management strategies Strong technology and computer skills Excellent interpersonal skills, patience, and a team-oriented approach Equivalent combinations of education, skills, and experience may be considered
Clear Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check
