Sturgeon Public Schools is seeking a Part-Time (0.5 FTE) Temporary Educational Assistant 2 for Morinville Public School.


Located just minutes north of St. Albert, MPS serves students from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 4. The school offers dynamic and specialized programming in a safe and caring environment where students are inspired to grow, learn, and achieve success. Staff at MPS are dedicated to creating engaging, child-centered learning experiences through play-based and project-based instruction.


This position will work under the direction of the classroom teacher, providing classroom and individual student support in an elementary setting.

Support students with academic, social, and emotional learning needs Implement strategies that promote positive behaviour and self-regulation Assist students with daily routines, transitions, and classroom engagement Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to create inclusive learning environments Encourage independence and confidence through patient and caring interactions
Foster a respectful and supportive classroom atmosphere

What You Bring

Educational Assistant or Early Childhood Diploma/Certificate Experience working with students who have behavioural or emotional regulation challenges CPR and First Aid certification Training in Autism, Behaviour Support, TCIS, and Trauma-Informed Practice Experience supporting students with emotional regulation and communication challenges Patience, empathy, and strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff Equivalent combinations of education, experience, and skills may be considered
