Sturgeon Public Schools is currently seeking a Full-Time Temporary Educational Assistant 2 for a work assignment at Redwater School.


Located in the Town of Redwater, the school serves approximately 300 students in Grades 5-12 with a dedicated staff of 25. Redwater School fosters a well-rounded approach to education, emphasising arts, academics, athletics, entrepreneurship, and citizenship. Community spirit is at the heart of the school, encouraging students to "Make a Difference" while pursuing their unique paths to success.

What You'll Be Doing

Under the direction of the classroom teacher, the Educational Assistant 2 will:


Support students with diverse learning needs under the direction of the classroom teacher Provide academic, behavioural, and social support in individual and small group settings Assist students in developing classroom and life skills Monitor, encourage, and document student progress Support strategies for students with Autism, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), and other varying abilities Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and caring classroom environment

What You Bring

Educational Assistant or Early Childhood Diploma/Certificate Experience supporting students with autism or diverse learning needs CPR and First Aid certification Training in Autism, Behaviour Management, and TCIS Ability to work collaboratively as part of a school team Patience, empathy, and a commitment to student success Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered Clear Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check
