About The Opportunity

We are on the hunt for a Director of Marketing (Maternity Cover) to join our dynamic, fast-paced and successful Flight Centre Canada Marketing team. In this role, you will report to both the Flight Centre Canada General Manager, along with the Flight Centre Global Marketing Leader and be part of the wider Flight Centre Global Marketing Leadership team. You will lead a team of multi-disciplinary Flight Centre Canada dedicated marketers.

In this role, you are responsible for the implementation, optimization of all Flight Centre global initiatives in your market, and the planning, production, implementation and reporting of regional based retail, tactical and local area marketing strategies.

You will work actively to deliver effective marketing strategies and campaigns that drive profitable sales, targeted market share growth and enhance the Flight Centre brand profile.

As a Director of Marketing you will understand customer and product lifecycles and understand how to create channel and media plans that allow you to reach your customers and drive retail growth.

You will be experienced in providing key stakeholders with campaign, ROI and performance reporting. You will be able to easily integrate, interrogate and translate marketing data into tangible insights and are encouraged and expected to continue to increasingly look to build on these skills to support the wider brand marketing strategy.

You are expected to strive for creativity and a point of difference in your work which will assist in showcasing Flight Centre as a brand leader in the travel industry. You strongly adhere to brand standards; you are customer and brand obsessed and are driven to deliver the best customer experience possible through delivering successful global brand initiatives.

As this role will support Flight Centre Global Marketing strategies, flexibility will be required to join calls outside of standard business hours on occasion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, inspire and develop a multi-disciplinary in-house diverse marketing team across digital (web/media), creative, CRM, partnership, social media, campaign and content execution
  • Understand business needs and objectives, identify consumer trends and opportunities, and develop marketing strategies, including segmenting, targeting, and positioning to acquire and retain customers.
  • Develop and drive marketing objectives and key results in support of national and global business goals.
  • Work with your leadership, local area and agency teams to build and execute marketing plans
  • Assist with Flight Centre Leadership team with operationalizing global or region plans market
  • Set, monitor and report on team channel and performance goals
  • Ensure brand and retail messages are strong and consistent across all channels and marketing efforts
  • Analyze consumer and media behavior in your market
  • Manage the Flight Centre Canada retail marketing budget, ensuring your channel mix is optimal and providing ROI signals against all marketing strategies
  • Participate in fortnightly, quarterly and annual planning of company objectives
  • Represent the Flight Centre brand by ensuring all advertising materials are representative of the Flight Centre tone of voice and meet overall brand and legal guidelines
Experience & Qualifications
  • 5+ years\' experience in Marketing Management roles preferably in B2C with a global brand either client or agency side
  • 5+ years\' experience with strategic planning and execution of an omni channel marketing communications plan
  • 5+ years\' experience as a people leader developing diverse marketers across multiple disciplines
  • Sound understanding and knowledge of retail travel, wholesale travel & airline industries
  • Strong time management skills
  • Exemplary attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Outstanding customer service skills (demonstrated to both internal and external customers)
  • Ability to communicate professionally & effectively with all internal and external stakeholders, on all levels
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines at any one time
