Now Hiring: Director of Marketing, TMX Markets

Reporting to the Vice-President and Head of Marketing) the Director of Marketing, TMX Markets will be the lead marketing business partner for the Markets business, including Post-Trade and TMX Datalinx within TMX Group. Will also define and execute marketing strategies that align with business growth initiatives across these business units, and will work closely with the Markets and TMX Datalinx business leaders and their leadership teams.

The Director of Marketing will also advise these business teams on marketing strategies related to their positioning in the market with current and potential clients. In addition, this role will also be responsible for partnering with the Vice-President of Marketing and the Vice-President of Corporate Communications on national and international marketing strategies to maintain and grow TMX Group\xe2\x80\x99s brand presence with key stakeholders.

The successful candidate will bring significant depth of industry expertise to TMX, with specific business acumen in derivatives trading and strong functional experience in digital marketing. The ideal candidate also brings a proven track record of strategic, analytical, and digital-focused marketing experience, with a proven track record and connections within the Canadian derivatives and equity trading communities. They will also bring an insatiable appetite for learning and staying in tune with the ever evolving marketing landscape. They are a natural leader, versatile, and eloquent in all aspects of providing marketing strategies to solve marketing challenges and create new opportunities.

Key Accountabilities:

Plans and develops efficient marketing strategies and detailed plans, that are based on a strong knowledge of the market, target audiences, key industry stakeholders and key industry trends, for attaining the business objectives of the Derivatives Trading, Equities Trading, CDCC, and CDS businesses and TMX Datalinx

Responsible for implementing specific marketing programs (digital campaigns, advertising, promotions, events, etc.), ensuring that they are a success. Accountable for the planning and execution of all marketing activities for the groups listed above

Supervises and executes the creation of new/improved marketing tools and processes; is creative in the role, and stays abreast of emerging trends

Actively measures marketing programs to ensure that their impacts can be assessed, taking any required corrective action. Supervises the creation/implementation of tools and processes for monitoring the identified metrics. Uses these metrics to advise business leadership teams on revised/new marketing strategies in alignment with business objectives

Advises the President and CEO of the MX and Global Head of Trading on specific opportunities to highlight these businesses with industry stakeholders, working closely with the Heads of Corporate Communications and Government Relations

Working with the business leaders from the product, sales and relationship management teams, plans, recommends and supervises the implementation of marketing activities related to their clients / prospects

Manages the marketing budget aligned with relevant business activity. Plans and ensures adherence to this annual budget. Leads annual marketing and marketing initiative budget planning relating to these businesses, including both resource-based and program expenditures

Leads and develops a team of Marketing professionals in alignment with the above accountabilities

This position requires local and other business travel, circumstances permitting.

Must Have Skills:

Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications or a relevant field of study

Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in marketing, including five (5) years as a manager. Specific and demonstrated experience in the creation, delivery, and measurement of digital marketing campaigns across channels

Deep understanding of the Canadian derivatives trading and equity trading markets required, along with knowledge of related market data products and services.

Prior experience in an equities or (preferably) derivatives trading environment is an absolute must have to be successful in this role

Given the global nature of the Markets business, the successful applicant should possess a heightened awareness and appreciation of cultural sensitivities in the jurisdictions in which we do business and adapt our commercialization strategies accordingly

Strong client understanding and focus with an excellent business acumen

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skill with a good sense of planning, organization and prioritization

Effective at working in a matrix structure

Equal comfort in participating in senior strategic and business discussions and taking a hands on approach to executing

Effective and demonstrated leadership skills, including an ability to motivate employees and influence business teams

Vision and creativity for developing innovative solutions and the ability to establish effective interpersonal relations

Bilingual (English and French, written and verbal)

Nice to Have(s):

Broader experience in the corporate financial sector or the securities industry desired
