They are looking for a Director of Finance who will be responsible for overseeing the financial reporting for the familyxe2x80x99s assets, investments, and activities. About the OpportunityLead the financial reporting function for the family office:
  • Oversee the day-to-day financial transactions, reporting, analysis and planning
  • Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and tax laws.
  • Analyze complex financial transactions and structuring to ensure proper recording for financial reporting purposes
  • Work with the CFO and team to streamline the period-end close cycle and standardize/automate processes
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including cash and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Develop and implement internal controls to ensure financial integrity and prevent fraud.
Lead financial information requirements for tax planning and compliance:
  • Work closely with Tax Director and external advisors to facilitate tax planning
  • Providing legal entity financial statements and other financial information required for tax return compliance in multi-jurisdictions.
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting for family holdings, including real estate, and other assets.
Support finance operations and transaction support:
  • Providing financial information to meet bank financing requirements, insurance policies, and other regulatory reporting.
  • Providing accurate financial data and analysis to assist in investment and business decisions.
  • Coordinate with external legal counsel to track and report on investments, transactions, and structure.
About You
  • Bachelorxe2x80x99s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA designation preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a focus on family offices, private equity, or wealth management.
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian accounting principles, tax laws, and financial reporting standards.
  • Strong understanding of investments, asset management, and financial markets.
  • Exceptional financial modelling, analysis, and reporting skills.
  • Proficient with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Sage, QuickBooks, or similar systems preferred.
Salary Range
