Synopsis of the role:
As the Director of the EPMO at Equifax, you will be responsible for development, training and oversight of the project management processes for the organization including governance, team leadership, monitoring, prioritization, communication, reporting and quality controls. Using lean, agile methodologies, you will work with the organization to plan and execute projects that meet strategic goals and work with your team to ensure projects are set up to succeed. Being able to view projects in the context of the larger organizational vision will be a key competency so as to prioritize, ensure alignment, and manage capacity. As Director you may also be required to step in to help manage larger, more visible andcomplex projects. Think 90% coach and 10% player.
What you'll do:
Direct and manage the day-to-day operations of the PMO, including planning, organizing and directing projects
Ensure that projects are managed according to the approved plans
Work closely with line of business leaders and divisions heads on their fiscal roadmaps to they are scopes and staffed appropriately
Lead a team of project managers and provide guidance and support for their projects and work to remove risks and blockers with stakeholders and the leadership team
Develop and ensure the use of lean, agile project management methodologies and tools that can be standardized and adopted across multiple projects of various scale and complexity that all projects are staffed what the right team members with the necessary skills, experience, knowledge and abilities
Understand and manage the interdependencies between projects
Identify potential risks involved in programs and projects and support the development plans to mitigate those risks
Support standardized reporting and communication across the organization
Work with the Director, Organizational Change Management to coordinate efforts on larger projects
What experience and you need:
A four-year university degree in business or a related field
7+ years of experience in project management is required
3+ years of experience in a PMO is desired
3+ years of experience in technology sector is required
Demonstrated expertise managing a team of project managers
Able to articulate a balance between a big picture perspective while also being able to attend to details
Executive presence & gravitas to be able to speak with credibility and confidence to the C-suite
Extremely well organized, a team player, self-starter and results oriented
PMP or similar certification is required
Lean, agile experience is required
