Opportunity: Fengate is seeking a Development Coordinator to join their growing development team in the Real Estate Group. Under the direction of the Director of Development and working closely with other members of the Real Estate Finance and Asset Management team, the successful candidate will be accountable for support of various scale and asset class development projects from acquisition through all stages of the development process. Requirements Key Responsibilities:
  • Support various entitlement approvals (ie. Official Plan and Zoning By-Law Amendments, Draft Plan of Subdivision, Site Plan Approval etc) through liaison with internal departments (legal, finance, asset management etc), consultant teams and government authorities.
  • Assist in entitlement and permit submissions for multiple projects.
  • Assist in managing external design and consulting teams to ensure timely resubmissions to address City comments.
  • Organize and level requests for proposals and consultant contracts
  • Prepare and maintain project schedules, meeting minutes, budgets, cost tracking, and other financial reporting as required.
  • Assist the Development Manager in evaluating various development scenarios through proforma and cash flow review.
  • Build relationships with municipal and regional staff.
  • Attend public meetings and events where applicable.
  • Become familiar with contract documents, specifications, municipal/regional standards, and special provisions to support permit preparation.
  • Post-secondary education in Architecture, Finance, Planning, Real Estate or Engineering field along with 1-3 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
  • Understanding of planning policies, regulations, and approvals processes in Toronto and neighboring municipalities.
  • Proficient knowledge in Microsoft office products including Excel, Word, Outlook, Microsoft Project
  • Must be self-motivated and able to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly
  • Excellent communication skills, strong customer service orientation and a positive team attitude
  • Adaptable and flexible in a continuous changing work environment
  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
Key Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Architecture, Finance, Planning, Real Estate or Engineering field along with 1-3 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.

Location & Travel: The position will be based out of the Toronto office with occasional travel to the Oakville office.
