Role Overview:

The Corporate Accounting Manager will serve as part of the Toronto based Corporate Accounting team. This role will work closely with both the Manager, Corporate Accounting, Director Finance and Corporate Accounting and other Finance team members and business partners to meet accounting and reporting requirements and is expected to develop a strong working knowledge of the businesses. This role has responsibility for the full accounting cycle of Fidelity Investments Canada ULC..

What You Will Do:

  • You will be responsible for the execution of all accounting functions, including but not limited to: journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis for the business
  • You will take ownership over the monthly and year-end close and will be responsible for producing various financial reports for senior management
  • Be the accounting point of contact and subject matter expert for the broader finance team
  • You will develop and implement new/enhanced systems and procedures to ensure adequate accounting and control for specific accounting functions
  • You will take a lead role in preparing schedules and documentation for the annual external audit
  • You will prepare IFRS compliant financial statements and stay abreast of developments in the industry impacting financial reporting
  • You will assist with the implementation of new accounting policies and procedures as well as administering existing policies and procedures
  • You will document all internal operating and control procedures
  • You will monitor key performance indicators and the impact of accounting issues on the business
  • You will participate in the development and completion of special and/or ad-hoc projects as assigned
What We're Looking For:
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA required)
  • University degree with a focus on Accounting preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with progressively more advanced accounting, financial analysis and operations work required
  • Thorough understanding of IFRS and proficiency in financial statement analysis
  • Prior experience in a public accounting or accounting role
  • Experience in Financial Industry is a strong asset
