JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking an energetic and self-motivated professional to support and grow our leisure sales program. The Coordinator is a strong communicator with natural interpersonal skills conducive to building and maintain excellent relationships with tourism industry clients. In addition to administrative duties, this individual will also promote our mountain experience to clients through familiarization tours, product knowledge training, in-destination outreach, off-site networking events and industry shows. This role is well suited for an individual with an entrepreneurial spirit and interest in growing their career within tourism.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Tour operator support including: responding to incoming queries, operations and logistics updates, rate contracts, promotional assets, OTA intranet updates
  • Inter-departmental alignment: tracking and communicating tour group arrivals and rate updates for relevant departments. Responding to internal tour operator queries (operations and accounting for example)
  • In-destination outreach: lead hotel concierge and info centre outreach and referral program
  • Business development activities:
  • Coordinate and participate in familiarization tours, product knowledge programs, industry events/shows.
  • Conduct post-season evaluations and use feedback to generate new ideas
  • One-on-one sessions with key accounts
  • Stay on top of industry trends, best practices and leveraging this industry intelligence to identify new business opportunities
  • Other: Maintain positive and productive relationships with internal and external contacts and accounts. Other duties as required

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES

  • Successful completion of post-secondary degree or diploma
  • Previous experience in tourism industry preferred
  • Comfortable speaking and presenting in front of groups
  • Ability to think and act strategically; work independently and manage time efficiently
  • Exceptionally strong oral communication skills; ability to develop rapport and credibility
  • Effective presentation selling skills and objection handling techniques
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high demand environment, and meeting tight deadlines
  • Committed work ethic; positive work attitude
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Knowledge of MS products from Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to work evening, weekends and statutory holidays, when required. Some travel required
WORKING CONDITIONS

Work takes place primarily indoors, with the exception of familiarization tours and product knowledge tours outdoors on the Mountaintop.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

$45,000 \xe2\x80\x93 $53,000 per year depending on experience
