Job Description



The Coordinator, Alumni, Community and Player Relations is responsible for implementing marketing and community efforts to strengthen the Ottawa Senators brand through NHL league-wide platforms, community outreach, fan engagement programs, player/alumni engagement and more Responsibilities

  • Support and grow Alumni and Player engagement and programs to support community initiatives and programs
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of impactful community programs that drive revenue and engagement such as Sens In School; Read to Succeed; Future Sens; First Shift; and more.
  • Support and implement team and league-wide social responsibility programs including Hockey Fights Cancer, Hockey Talks, Black History Month, and Pride Night, among others.
  • Collaborate across departments to identify and develop new fans/groups as part of our overall fan segmentation efforts and create a strategy around our fan development.
  • Implement monthly programs for the Senators in support of the overall social impact strategy and designated non-profit beneficiary.
  • Actively seek opportunities to improve our teams\' impact on the community and build connections with community partners who align with our brand and fan base building strategy.
  • Support the Ticket Sales, Group Sales, Premium Seating, Corporate Partnerships teams in promoting various revenue generating programs.
  • Collaborate with Communications, Game Entertainment, and the Digital teams on amplification of Alumni, player and fan development initiatives to build exposure and affinity.
  • Build content and create opportunities to promote initiatives through social media, email, web, print and other channels.
  • Assist Senior Director, Alumni, Community and Player relations with Senators Alumni Association and amplification of player initiatives in the community.
  • Manage and track program databases and deliverables to measure program effectiveness.
  • Be available to work all Ottawa Senators home games.
  • Represent the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club and Canadian Tire Centre in a positive and professional manner to fans and the community
  • Other duties as required
Requirements
  • 3 to 5 years\' previous event planning and coordination experience is ideal
  • Have access to a vehicle
  • Sense of humour is required
  • Intimate knowledge and understanding of hockey and ice sports is essential
  • Knowledge of event coordination and event planning
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, minor hockey associations
  • Excellent problem solving and organizational skills
  • Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Must be available to work weekends, nights and holidays
  • Proficient spreadsheet, word processing, and database management skills
  • College or university graduate
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent supervisory skills
  • Bilingualism (English & French) an asset
  • Team player
  • Must be able to provide a clear police records check for service with the vulnerable sector
