The SFU Alumni team oversees the management and development of alumni engagement initiatives and programming including local activities, events around the globe, online learning, and alumni community benefits and services.

About the Role

The Coordinator, Alumni Relations provides oversight and support to SFU Alumni Relations events management and engagement efforts. SFU events take place locally and globally. The Coordinator is responsible for the execution and day-to-day event management of SFU\'s alumni growing alumni events and programming portfolio. The Coordinator participates in on-going events planning, event strategy, communication and stewardship of alumni volunteers and donors. This position plans and oversees the management of alumni engagement events and programming and supports the development and implementation of new unit initiatives that advance the priorities of the Advancement and Alumni Engagement\'s strategic plan.

Qualifications

Bachelor\'s degree or diploma in Arts, Business Administration or Communications and two years of related experience in areas such as working with Indigenous and multicultural groups, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong analytical reasoning, problem solving, and organizational skills, with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to develop relationships and partnerships and to work collaboratively at all levels and areas within the organization.
  • Ability to work with information and records systems and access improvements when needed.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment exercising mature judgment and a high level of diplomacy and discretion.
