About the Role: Reporting to the Senior Director of PR and Communications for One Planet Group, the Communications Specialist will be responsible for the social media accounts of One Planet Group and its subsidiaries: Buyerlink and Autoweb. This includes the generation of new ideas, the creation of content calendars, creative, and the management of paid campaigns. You will ensure that the team maintains a constant awareness of the competitive landscape, opportunities for expansion, customers, markets, and new industry developments. You will additionally be responsible for the deployment of an internal newsletter, award applications, blog posts, and will assist the Senior Director of PR and Communications with external media relations. Successful candidates are experienced professionals (3+ yrs) who are jazzed about working on a growing team. Those who enjoy being hands-on with a variety of communications projects and initiatives, with a creative self-starter personality will do well. We are an office-first organization. This role will report to our office in Victoria, British Columbia. Responsibilities:

• Oversee the content development for the company\'s social media channels across Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin, Threads, and Twitter.
• Develop exciting creative content for One Planet\'s blog and website
• Work closely with internal teams to develop cohesive messaging across all OPG entities
• Oversee the creation of internal newsletters
• Source PR opportunities for One Planet Group and its CEO and founder Payam Zamani; including pitching for awards, speakerships, and op-eds
• Facilitate media, on-site, and virtual events as needed

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in media relations, communications, social media marketing, or a related field
• Ability to make strategic decisions and pivot in a fast-paced environment
• A strong storyteller with impeccable writing and editing skills
• Comfort in Meta Ads Manager, and LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Twitter, Threads, etc.
• A pulse on the ever-changing trends of communications and social media
• Obsessive attention to detail
