COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST
J.D. Irving, Limited is currently seeking applicants for the full-time position of Communications Specialist. The Communications Specialist will work collaboratively within the Corporate Communications team and with internal customers to support the J.D. Irving group companies based in Dieppe, NB. The Communications Specialist plays a key role in the Corporate Communications function by supporting business-to-business communications for senior executives and working as part of a dynamic and collaborative team that helps shape the company\'s engagement with internal and external stakeholders.   • Prepare professional PowerPoint presentations suitable for a variety of audiences.
  • Work collaboratively with sales and function leaders to develop materials for meetings, tours, and customer events that will showcase our unique value proposition.
  • Produce first class communication materials for internal and external events, employee communications and other key initiatives.
  • Work with graphic designers to assist in the development of materials for publication.
  • Create and finalize written products such as newsletters, brochures, news releases, speaking notes with tight deadlines.
  • Identify, research, assess and create editorial content for internal use across the organization, reflecting the company\xe2\x80\x99s Values, achievements and functions.
  • Social media management skills, and an understanding of major platforms, providing social media support and producing concise and impactful internal digital displays.
  • Manage special events and support public speaking engagements for executives and leadership team.
Successful candidate will possess the following:
  • Undergraduate degree in relevant discipline of public relations, journalism, communications or considerable experience (5+ years) combined with a community college diploma in a related discipline of communications or marketing.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook) with exceptional PowerPoint skills.
  • The ideal candidate will be an exceptional writer that can edit materials into clear communications for intended audiences across multiple formats.
  • Must have superior time-management with well-developed project management skills, the ability to handle multiple projects at the same time while meeting deadlines effectively, efficiently, and independently.\xc2\xb7
  • Ability to adapt and respond quickly to changing requirements and to work well under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across a wide range of teams.
  • Demonstrated adaptability and professional maturity.
  • Willingness to roll-up sleeves and get the work done.
  • Proven ability to think ahead, engage proactively and take initiative.
  • Inter-personal skills and the ability to manage senior stakeholders\xe2\x80\x99 expectations.
  • Excellent team player who is committed, optimistic, enthusiastic, and creative.
  • Bilingualism is an asset (English/French).
  • Agency experience in consumer products, manufacturing or transportation background would be considered an asset.
