:The Communications Specialist role will work with the Corporate Affairs Head to help execute a reputation strategy and Purpose-led initiatives that drives increased awareness of Mars Pet Nutrition in Canada, as well as its brands. Work will include executing external programs, driving internal Associate engagement, content creation, and thought leadership programs to elevate the profile of the company and support the organization\xe2\x80\x99s priorities. This role will collaborate with Associates across the business as well as community members, and agency partners.Key areas of responsibility include:External Communications & PurposeSupports on the execution of Corporate and Brand PR initiatives that increase awareness of Mars Pet Nutrition, its brands, and Purpose in Canada.Develops and fosters relationships with key community partners and shelter organizations, animal welfare groups and nonprofit organizations to support company objectives and help meet community needs.Maintains a strong understanding of current and new media trends which can help influence reach or target audience.Helps with proactive and reactive media relations, and event opportunities.Develop, edit, and distribute a wide variety of communications materials to external audiences that could include press releases, corporate materials, social posts, and presentations.Monitors company and competitor news to identify emerging issues and storylines.Internal CommunicationsSupports in the execution of Mars Pet Nutrition\xe2\x80\x99s internal communication plans across channels and with internal moments that matter, including managing the distribution of newsletters, organizational updates and more.Supports the scheduling and coordination of periodic Town Halls, working in partnership with business partners, including deck development and key messages.Lead the delivery and execution of Mars Volunteer Program that connects Purpose to the Associate experience in partnership with PAWS team; includes identifying, supporting, and tracking Associate volunteer opportunities.Leads internal tracking of impact numbers tied to Purpose efforts.Complete special projects and programs, as assigned.Skills Required:Must have strong oral and written communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.Transparent and open, a thoughtful communicator, with a positive attitude and team spirit.Knowledge of and experience with both internal and external communications and media relations.Digitally savvy.Comfortable working with senior management.Education & Professional QualificationsBachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or associated profession is required, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.Knowledge & Experience1-3 years relevant professional experience in brand, corporate or internal communications with proven success leading, developing and managing communications programs.Agency experience a plusBilingual an asset, but not required.#LI-RP1
