Provide support for acquisitions and sales of commercial properties, condominium developments, financing transactions and land development
Perform sub-searches of title and off-title searches and addressing any issues noticed accordingly
Drafting e-reg. documents in the Teraview system, draft instruments and obtain parcels per the lawyers' instructions
Assist with commercial leasing transactions
Assist with registration of plans of subdivision and other land development matters
Thorough understanding of the billing process - entering and revising time dockets, preparing pre-bills, proof-reading accounts, preparing account letters and sending out invoices
Prepare cheque requisitions and trust deposits/withdrawals and preparing expense reports and account balances
Corresponding directly with clients, other lawyer's offices and municipalities
Organize and maintaining physical and electronic files
Qualifications
A diploma in a related Legal Administration and/or Law Clerk program or equivalent years of experience
6 + years of experience in a similar position in a Commercial or Residential Real Estate Law practice
Proficiency with PC Law, Microsoft Office Suite, Teraview, Conveyancer, and Lawyer Done Deal
Ability to complete commercial and residential purchase and sale transactions from start to finish with minimal supervision
Experience with commercial loan transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions
Demonstrates a professional demeanor, high ethical standards, and commitment to service excellence
Ability to multi-task and work independently
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
