Robert Half is hiring candidates looking to build their careers as finance professionals for an open position in a growing team in the Food & Food Processing industry. This long-term contract / temporary Collections Specialist position is available in the Cambridge, Ontario area.
How you will make an impact
- Act as liaison in maintaining quality customer service and a positive company image by resolving customer account inquiries
- Guarantee payments are processed
- Administer all billing and reporting activities in response to deadlines
- Oversee and update customer files to ensure data consistency
- Control inbound and outbound collections calls and correspondence
- Abide by all rules and regulations established by the Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act
- Ensure bankruptcy filings are processed in the correct manner when received
- Log all customer payments to the correct reports
- Pinpoint delinquent customer accounts through various means, e.g. written correspondence, phone contact, skip-tracing, and making arrangements for payment
Requirements
- Earlier experience working with various types of accounting software desired
- AA or BS/BA in Accounting preferred
- Experience with Aging Reports
- Strong familiarity with Collection Processes
- Commercial collections experience required
- Billing Collection experience
- Adeptness in account reconciliation
- Aging Accounts experience
- Ability to analyze and make decisions on customer accounts
- 2-3 years of prior high volume collections experience
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively throughout all levels of the company
