The Carrier Sales Manager will be responsible for driving carrier capacity expansion in their respective region. They will work with the rest of the management team in identifying and implementing the strategic plan to significantly increase our carrier base, service offerings, and functional capabilities within their region. The CSM will partner with the Business Development team to understand existing trends with our current and potential customer base to align our efforts accordingly. Additionally, they will support the Business Development and Account Management teams in creating solutions for strategic projects involving their region. This progressive role is for the professional that has extensive experience and strong existing relationships in their assigned region.

  • Work with the DHL Transport Brokerage (DTB) management to establish a strategic plan for expanding our carrier base within their assigned region.
  • Assist legal with contract negotiation and aligning with regional standards.
  • Work independently in executing the strategic plan and report to DTB management consistently on progress.
  • Leverage existing relationships for near-term wins, but overarching strategy for long-term growth.
  • The position will also be responsible for advancing carrier initiatives for our department and developing a strategic carrier relationship program.
  • Work closely with our operations and sales teams to maximize opportunities created by our carrier relationships.
  • Develop and maintain a strategic carrier development program leveraging national, regional, and local carriers. Strengthen current carrier relationships in place.
  • Maintain a well-developed pipeline of prospects in increase carrier base.
  • Develop strong, ongoing relationships with prospects and customers.
  • Demonstrate solid decision-making skills and ability to prioritize ever-changing daily tasks through smart-action based critical thinking.
Required Education and Experience
  • Undergraduate degree in Transportation, Logistics, Management, or related field preferred
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in transportation/logistics
  • 5 years of previous Carrier Sales experience within a 3PL or freight brokerage environment, strongly preferred
  • Carrier/capacity acquisition experience
  • Licensed Customs Broker or Customs Experience a plus
