The Cafe Barista will oversee the daily operations of Cafe 1967, located in the lobby of the Sandman Signature Winnipeg Hotel & Suites. Open each morning to serve hotel guests, the cafe requires team members who are personable, professional, and committed to delivering exceptional customer service. The successful candidate will project a positive image of the cafe, respond effectively to guest needs and special requests, and act as a brand ambassador by consistently providing a high-quality, memorable experience for all guests.

DUTIES:

Cafe Operations: Oversee all aspects of daily cafe operations, including opening and closing procedures, food and beverage preparation, and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment. Beverage Preparation: Craft a range of high-quality specialty coffee drinks and light food offerings with consistency and efficiency. Inventory: Maintain accurate inventory levels, ensure proper stock rotation, and waste reduction. Guest Experience: Provide courteous, professional service to all guests, creating positive and efficient customer experience aligned with the hotel's brand. POS & Cash Handling: Operate the point-of-sale system, manage cash and credit transactions, and complete end-of-day reconciliation. Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, maintaining sanitation standards and food handling procedures. Coordination: Communicate regularly with hotel leadership to ensure alignment with guest service expectations and operational goals.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Barista experience an asset Strong knowledge of coffee brewing methods and cafe operations Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage time and priorities effectively Availability to work early morning shifts, plus weekends, and holidays as needed

Manual dexterity required Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Regular physical activity including walking, standing, sitting and lifting, This will be a part time position
