Job Description

As a key member of the Front of House team at Pearle, the Pearle's Cafe Server/Barista is responsible for delivering an exceptional dining experience by providing attentive, personalized service while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation. With a deep understanding of guest expectations, this role anticipates and fulfills needs, working seamlessly with the culinary team to ensure a flawless guest journey from arrival to departure.

Key Accountabilities:



Ensure tables are impeccably set with appropriate linen, dishware, and flatware. Learn and master the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation, to confidently answer guests' questions and make recommendations. Suggest additional items such as appetizers, desserts, and beverages to enhance the dining experience and increase sales. Process guest payments accurately and efficiently, including handling cash, credit cards, and any other forms of payment. Ensure the dining area and entrance are clean and well-maintained throughout the shift. Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe dining environment for guests and staff. Attend regular training sessions to stay updated on menu changes, service techniques, and company policies. Fill water glasses prior to guests' arrival and refill them throughout the meal. Greet guests warmly as they arrive and direct them to their tables. Take guests' orders, noting any special requests or dietary restrictions, and communicate guests' needs to the kitchen and culinary team. Deliver courses to tables, accurately presenting guests with their selections. Ensure food and beverages are replenished in a timely manner when applicable. Anticipate guests' needs continually and fulfill them appropriately. Clear dishes and flatware once food service is completed, ensuring guest tables remain tidy and clutter-free by discreetly removing empty glassware, plates, etc. Demonstrate a sense of urgency while remaining poised during peak periods. Seek out additional tasks during slower periods, such as polishing cutlery and assembling items necessary for reset, to stay ahead of the next stage in service. Always act with integrity and honesty, taking responsibility for decisions and actions. Exhibit a positive and upbeat attitude toward guests and fellow team members. Maintain positive relationships within the team and with those outside of it, working together toward the common goal of success across the property. Arrive to work promptly and well-presented, in full uniform, and ready for each shift with all necessary tools for the job. Provide exceptional service to ensure a memorable and upscale experience for all guests.
