The Dishwasher plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of the kitchen in an upscale restaurant. Responsible for washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment, the Dishwasher ensures all items are sanitized and organized for use. By maintaining a clean and orderly work environment, they support the kitchen team in delivering a seamless dining experience, adhering to the highest standards of sanitation and food safety regulations. Their contributions help ensure smooth service in maintaining the restaurant's reputation for excellence.

Key Accountabilities:



Arrive promptly in full uniform, prepared with all necessary tools for the job. Prepare the station, ensuring all dishwashing equipment is operational and cleaning agents are stocked. Understand and safely operate all equipment. Clean all dishware and cutlery effectively, pre-soaking and scraping when necessary. Provide chefs with clean pans, utensils, and other tools required for their tasks. Handle dishware and glassware with care, returning clean smallware's to their storage areas. Actively participate in cleaning kitchen areas by sweeping, mopping, clearing, and cleaning shelves. Use correct signage to reduce accidents when equipment is out of order or floors are wet. Regularly remove full waste bags and recycling, carrying them to the appropriate outdoor receptacles. Follow established cleaning schedules and proper food handling procedures. Replenish par levels of chemicals and supplies as needed. Manage time effectively to ensure organizational efficiency. Demonstrate a sense of urgency during peak periods while remaining poised and seek out additional tasks during slower periods. Understand the importance of the dishwashing station's contribution and know when to ask for help. Ensure the health and safety of guests and team members by following proper procedures for the use and storage of chemicals. Organize cleaning supplies, ensuring all labels are in place and easy to read. Ensure tools such as wet floor signs and mops are well maintained and stored properly. Adhere to the Daily Cleaning "To Do" List, completing all items in a timely manner. Perform the clean-up and tear-down of the station meticulously, ensuring the work area is spotless and everything is properly stored. Use initiative, accept responsibility, and be flexible. Maintain positive relationships within the team and with others, working collaboratively towards the common goal of success across the property. Additional Duties: In addition to the accountabilities listed above, there may be other duties as assigned by your manager. These duties may vary slightly depending on the property.

What we would like you to bring to the position:



Cleaning or dishwashing experience considered an asset Experience and knowledge of food preparation and kitchen maintenance is beneficial Demonstrated ability to work independently, multitask and prioritize tasks Willingly accept additional tasks as required for the effective functioning of the work unit Take direction and instruction well from the management teams Strong organizational skills to maintain a clean and tidy kitchen and work space Confidently operate an industrial dishwash machine
