Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service while assisting with food preparation, serving, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. This position requires strong time management skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced food service setting.

Duties

Operate the POS system, including Micros POS, to process customer orders efficiently. Prepare and serve food and beverages, ensuring adherence to food safety standards. Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly and addressing their needs promptly. Assist with food preparation tasks, including assembling orders and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area. Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and basic math calculations for order totals. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, following all health and safety regulations. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth cafe operations during busy periods.

Qualifications

Previous experience in the food industry is preferred, with barista experience being a plus. Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively in a busy environment. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and positively with customers. Basic math skills for cash handling and order processing. Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations is essential. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated when necessary. Pay: From $17.85 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 35 per week
