Job Title
: Business Systems Analyst (Hybrid)

The Team
Our team works with the business lines and technology to develop solutions for but not limited to revolving credit products. We provide SME knowledge and expertise for the internal KS and TSYS host applications and all the subsequent linked systems impacting the host.

The Role
The incumbent is responsible, through independent contribution and the management/supervision of staff, for the resolution of complex business problems for the assigned Lines of Business. This includes managing multiple small projects, participating in and/or managing specific sections of large projects, and providing ongoing support to all assigned units worldwide. Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives based on both user needs and a good understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements for the assigned Lines of Business. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex. Includes analyzing business and user needs, documenting requirements and translating them into proper systems requirement specifications. Provide subject-matter expertise and consultation to the CCUL Team on TSYS TS2
Some of the key accountabilities include:

1. Independently resolve complex, multi-faceted problems to meet the business needs of the assigned Lines of Business, by applying their financial and technological knowledge to the design of methodologies, models, and/or systems solutions. This may involve rapid prototyping, with requirements and solutions developed on an iterative basis that provides interim deliverables until a final production solution is created. This includes conducting research and analysis, accurately and clearly defining user requirements and processes, and liaising with the users. 2. Manage multiple small projects and/or manage specific sections of large projects to implement solutions to business problems. This involves planning and scheduling resources, developing detailed project plans, monitoring progress against planned objectives, financial review, and securing consensus and co-operation from users and senior management. 3. Participate in the systems implementation process by defining business requirements and processes, developing test strategies and test cases, performing testing, defining user procedures and workflows, developing conversion and implementation strategies, verifying conversion, providing user documentation, providing user training, and providing post-implementation support. 4. Provide business support to all units Globally, including new and existing product and deal structuring, ad hoc queries and MIS, user training, and assisting with the design and implementation of systems enhancements. This is made more challenging due to differences in time zones and the variation in the business lines. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that management is kept informed and that problems and issues are escalated appropriately. 5. Continually acquire and enhance knowledge of the Division's business strategies and policies, risk management practices and methodologies, product offerings, financial markets, financial instruments, regulatory requirements, Back Office processes, and rapidly changing technology to be able to provide effective business solutions and services to the end user business lines.
6. Effectively manage and supervise business analysis staff by setting performance expectations, monitoring performance, providing performance feedback including the preparation of performance appraisals, and as needed, providing counsel and coaching. This also includes assisting in the recruitment of qualified project management and business analysis staff.Facilitates the optimization of business unit performance by enhancing.

7. Perform maintenance activities on the TSYS TS2 credit card processor to ensure the successful operation of the CCUL business. Activities include troubleshooting issues, performing required updates, change management, and project-related activities as a central point of contact for TSYS TS2.
What You Will Bring to Succeed

Detail oriented, methodical and has ability to translate business ideas into automated solutions. The incumbent will be expected to demonstrate effective leadership skills, including the ability to assume end-to-end ownership of a project and responsibility for the related project deliverables. Ability to work effectively as a team member in cross-functional project teams. Ability to work independently under the general guidance of the Senior Manager, Banking Solutions. Ability to identify and escalate issues to senior management or a project steering committee, as appropriate Working knowledge of project planning and project management, with the expectation of developing a thorough knowledge within the first 12 months on the post. Strong business writing skills, including the ability to select the most appropriate method of communication and to clearly and concisely prepare a variety of business communications, eg. Branch/ Call Centre Circulars, Job Aids, User Guides, and project implementation / strategy documents. Well developed verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate and articulate the underlying message effectively with different audiences, eg. branch staff, senior management in Information Technology Solutions, internal business clients, and external vendors. The incumbent will be expected to achieve the following competencies within their first 12 months on the post:
  • Thorough project management skills including strong expertise in using Microsoft Project.
  • Working knowledge of process methodology / mapping (modelling and charting workflows).

  • Working knowledge of the Bank's technology .
