POSITION: Brand Manager, Sleeman

LOCATION: Guelph, Ontario

DESCRIPTION:

The Brand Manager, Sleeman leads the management of the Sleeman brand for the organization, providing all related short and long-range strategic leadership as well as planning, building, and delivery of results. This role is accountable for the coaching and development of one Assistant Brand Manager as well as for leading and influencing multiple related functions across the organization. Sleeman is the flagship brand of the organization and amongst the priority beer brands for the company. With its vast portfolio in multiple segments, the Sleeman brand is the largest brand in the corporation. Hybrid work model - 2 days in office, 3 days home.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead the development and execution of Sleeman brand management activities nationally for the organization including strategic and tactical planning, positioning/brand identity, new product development, packaging, creative development, media selection, public relations, pricing strategy, consumer insights, promotional activities, and social media.
  • Achieve annual volume, market share and financial targets (gross margin, revenue). Develop and manage budgets for the brands, effectively allocating resources to drive short and long-term brand growth and profitability.
  • Lead development, monitoring and analysis on key brand health performance indicators and follow up to make strategic recommendations based on same
  • Lead the development and execution of 3-year brand strategy plans for Sleeman
  • Manage direction for and lead relationships with key outside partners critical for the success of Sleeman brands, including creative agencies, media agencies, PR agencies and research agencies.
  • Lead and collaborate with regional Trade Marketing teams to ensure promotions and sponsorship are connected to brand strategy and drive volume and financial targets.
  • Collaborate and provide guidance for the brand experience at the Sleeman Retail store in Guelph.
  • Develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders such as: community groups, government officials, agency suppliers and Sleeman Brewery managers across all functions. Interact with regulatory bodies as required to ensure legality of brand activities
  • Participate in critical planning meetings, such as sales and marketing activity planning, demand planning, financial forecasting, monthly and quarterly Business Review, annual brand planning.
  • Lead the development and performance of an Assistant Brand Manager
  • Collaborate with regional Sales Directors on pricing strategy for Sleeman brands.
  • Investigate and monitor competitive activity and industry trends.
  • Recommend and implement continuous improvement, best practices and MUDA reduction opportunities.
  • Maintain compliance with all Canadian advertising law, standards, and liquor board
  • regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as required
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in marketing or related business field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a related role within a consumer packaged goods environment
  • Beverage alcohol industry experience considered an asset
  • Proven experience building brands to deliver strong results
  • Experience managing digital and social media programs an asset
  • Proven ability to work effectively on multiple cross-functional teams
  • Financial acumen and accountability for financial results
  • Excellent project management and organization skills
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong computer skills, including ability to use Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Bilingual (in English and French) considered an asset
  • Acceptable criminal background check
  • Ability to demonstrate behaviors compatible with the organization

Les responsabilites principales incluent :
  • Mener la creation et laEUR(TM)execution des activites nationales de gestion de la marque Sleeman pour laEUR(TM)entreprise, incluant la planification strategie et tactique, le positionnement et laEUR(TM)identite de la marque, le developpement de nouveaux produits, laEUR(TM)emballage, la creation du materiel promotionnel, la selection des medias, les relations publiques, la strategie tarifaire, les etudes de consommateurs, les activites promotionnelles et les medias sociaux.
  • Atteindre les objectifs de volume, de parts de marche et financiers annuels (marge beneficiaire brute, revenus). Creer et gerer les budgets pour les marques, allouer efficacement les ressources pour promouvoir la croissance et la rentabilite a court et long terme des marques.
  • Mener le developpement, la surveillance et laEUR(TM)analyse des indicateurs cles de performance et realiser des suivis pour effectuer des recommandations strategiques sur la base de ces indicateurs cles.
  • Diriger laEUR(TM)elaboration et la mise en A"uvre des plans trisannuels de strategie de la marque Sleeman.
  • Fournir une direction et gerer les relations avec les partenaires externes essentiels a la reussite de la marque Sleeman, y compris avec les agences publicitaires, mediatiques, de relations publiques et de recherche.
  • Diriger et collaborer avec les equipes regionales daEUR(TM)activites de marque pour confirmer que les promotions et commandites sont bien reliees a la strategie de marque et entraaneront une augmentation des ventes et laEUR(TM)atteinte des objectifs financiers.
  • Collaborer et fournir des conseils sur laEUR(TM)experience de marque de la boutique Sleeman a Guelph.

  • Assurer le respect de toutes les lois et normes canadiennes sur la publicite et toutes les reglementations de la Regie des alcools.
  • Effectuer daEUR(TM)autres taches connexes, selon les besoins.
Exigences :
  • a?ducation postsecondaire en marketing ou autre domaine connexe
  • Au moins 5 ans daEUR(TM)experience dans un poste similaire au sein daEUR(TM)un environnement de biens de consommation courante.
  • Une experience dans laEUR(TM)industrie des boissons alcoolisees sera consideree comme un atout.
  • Experience eprouvee dans la croissance des marques et laEUR(TM)obtention de bons resultats
  • Une experience dans la gestion de programmes numeriques et de reseaux sociaux sera consideree comme un atout
  • Capacite eprouvee a collaborer efficacement avec des equipes aux rales transversaux multiples
