Your Opportunity

We are looking for a BI Developer trainee to work with the Enterprise Business Intelligence Solutions team within the Integrated Business Applications group. The successful candidate will be trained with the different applications and tools that the team uses to support the business intelligence and dashboard reporting needs of the business.

Your Key Responsibilities

Problem Solving

Strong problem-solving skills

Collaborate with Business Analysts, BI Development Team, and other systems analysts to analyze business requirements; and translate them into Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence (DW/BI) solutions

Develop and troubleshoot code

Technical

Design, develop, and implement reports and stored procedures using: Oracle Data Warehouse Data Model, OBIA/ODI, OBIEE RPD business models, and OAS dashboards

Develop and maintain queries

Building/interpreting design documents

Understand and adhere to Data Model/ETL/development best practices

Participate in technical design reviews and code reviews

Communication

Effectively communicate highly technical information to functional, technical team members and management

Communicate issues and solutions in a clear and concise manner

Interact with end user and peers to resolve issues

Maintain a positive attitude when dealing with others in a pressured environment

Attention to Detail and Compliance

Monitor and check work or information while organizing time and resources efficiently

Understand and follow general compliance requirements

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Database and application development experience using formal software development life cycle

In-depth experience with SQL, PL/SQL and relational or multidimensional database

Experience in developing scripts to extract, transform and load data into an enterprise data warehouse or data store is a plus

Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills

Ability to work with professionalism and confidentiality

Ability to work with minimal supervision

Prioritizes to focus time and effort on key tasks

Ability to work with minimal supervision

Self-motivated, ability to learn on his own

Excellent team player

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Applications Development or related field.

1-2 years of experience in application development

Working understanding of any BI Tools an asset
