Job Title BI Developer - Tableau - Halifax (Hybrid) - #CSTech
What is the opportunity?
As a Senior Tableau Developer in RISK IT Data Services team, you will design, implement and support various Tableau reports, best practices and processes within Risk IT Data Services across global organization in line with corporate vision. As a member of a dynamic, fast paced team, this role brings strong Tableau architecture and tableau visualization skills and leadership, effective written and verbal communication skills, a strong work ethic and a demonstrated capability to multi-task effectively. This role requires strong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills as well as a demonstrated sense of urgency to respond to changing priorities at times. This is complemented by a positive attitude and a willingness to take accountability for results achieved.
What will you do?
Provide consulting services on new initiatives (small to large of varying complexity).
Explore new emerging technologies and how they best suit our applications
Develop, code, document and execute unit test, system, integration, and acceptance test
Ensure adequate technical documentation and training.
Optimize different dashboard and visualizations in Tableau reporting layer
What do you need to succeed?
Build high quality Tableau reports.
Responsible for automating the data refreshes of the data source in Tableau.
Developed Tableau workbooks from multiple data sources using data blending.
Knowledge of actions, filters, parameters, sets and LOD.
Analyze data sources and data points to identify the trends and share insights with business users.
Maintain user access and restriction to reports and its underlying data.
Marinating row-level security using groups and user level filters.
Responsible for the user walkthrough session and assisting any issues reported.
Proactively identifies innovative opportunities to enhance the reporting and data quality.
Identify issues and problems and escalate immediately.
Knowledge and Experience
Must Have
3+ years of experience using Tableau
Extensive experience in Tableau dashboard building and publishing on Server.
Strong knowledge of SQL to generate custom queries and analysis.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Experience in developing Tableau reports and pushing reports on Server
Working knowledge of Jenkins CI, Git, JIRA
Ability to seek improvements to all aspects of the development process
Nice to have
Market Risk/Capital Markets knowledge
Big Data and Hadoop architecture exposure
