Role: Sr. Power BI Developer, Data Strategy & Analytics
Reports to: Senior Manager, Data Strategy & Analytics
Status: Full Time, Regular

Location: Birchmount (Markham) \xe2\x80\x93 candidate MUST reside within Ontario

Reporting to Senior Manager, Data Strategy & Analytics, you will play a key role in a highly visible team within the organization to advance our business as we execute our data strategy. This is a great opportunity for an individual with a passion for using data to drive insights, presenting key learnings and delivering transformational outcomes to our business. We are looking for an exceptional Power BI Developer who could help us to take our reporting to the next level.

You are an inquisitive and intellectually curious individual with advanced analytics experience, excellent communications skills, good business acumen and effective change leadership. With an agile-mindset, you are obsessed with data quality and pragmatic algorithms, have a passion for understanding and integrating business semantics into technology solutions and enjoy learning our business and operations with a go-and-see mindset.

Accountabilities:

• Develop high-quality datasets and visually stunning dashboards, reports and KPI Scorecards in Power BI
• Able to quickly provide both MDX and DAX solutions
• Design, develop, and deploy Power BI scripts and perform efficient detailed analysis that can help in decision-making
• Strong ability to quickly propose solutions by recalling the latest best practices learned from MVP & Product Team articles, MSFT documentation, whitepapers, and community publications
• Familiarity with the Azure data platform, e.g., ADLS, Synapse, ADF, Databricks etc
• Apply design- and system-thinking concepts with an agile mindset to create and deploy incremental, viable data products by leveraging tools available in-house and in the open-source ecosystems
• Have an open mind and a knack to collaborate effectively across internal and external partners to further capitalize on data assets
• Have a passion for understanding and integrating business semantics into technology solutions

Qualifications:

• 4 years proven experience working with SQL language
• 2-4 years Power BI, SSAS, SSRS, and SSIS
• 3+ years experience working with databases, data warehouses and data lakes preferably Azure SQL DB
• BI certifications are a strong asset Microsoft Data and/or
• Knowledge of DAX, M, PowerShell, and T-SQL
• Python and or R is an asset
• Experience in problem solving and analytical skills to develop creative, unique, and pragmatic approaches and solutions to address complex problems
• Business domain knowledge in one or more of the following: Sales, Call Center Operations, Billing and Collections, Accounting and Finance is a plus
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
