We are currently seeking a Power BI Senior Developer to join our team in Montreal, Quebec (CA-QC), Canada (CA).

Job Responsibilities Include:

We are looking for a strong, senior level Power BI Developer to join our Legal & Information Management Technology team and help deliver key initiatives. In addition to building reports, analytics, and dashboards, the applicant shall have solid hands-on experience in Power BI with data sourcing, transformation and modeling expertise using the Power BI technology stack components. The applicant will work on other BI tools, namely SAP BOXI and Tableau BI as required based on business needs. Prior experience in finance or legal or information management operations will be helpful, however, the ability and willingness to quickly master new technical and business concepts will be considered. The applicant will be working with an energetic team of highly intellectual and creative developers who work on bleeding edge projects using a variety of different technologies and will be willing to share and gain knowledge with fellow team members.

Basic Qualifications:

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in reports development using industry leading business intelligence reporting and dashboarding tools primarily using Power BI, SAP Business Objects (BOXI) and Tableau.

• At least 5+ years of demonstrated and hands-on experience in building and delivering Power BI reports, analytics, and dashboards in production environments

• Utilized both Power BI Desktop and Power BI Paginated Reports in building use case specific solutions using the right tool

• Possess knowledge and experience in front to back Power BI solution architecture.

• Experience in publishing contents to Power BI Service, setting up entitlements and rolling out contents to business users for production use.

• Built BI solutions using Power BI against On-Premises, Cloud and Hybrid data sources.

• Experience working in other Business Intelligence tools most importantly SAP BOXI version 4.x

• Expertise in capturing and reviewing queries generated by the report building tools, evaluate the same for optimizations by running them directly against the source databases using SQL client tools.

• Hands on experience in using industry leading relational databases most specifically Oracle and IBM DB2 UDB. Should be able to write medium to advanced level SQL queries for data sampling, exploration, and troubleshooting.

• Closely work with business stake holders in clearly understanding the business requirements for the reports to be built and liaising with them in providing UAT support and getting sign off towards deploying them to production

• Hands-on experience in the associated systems and software components including but not limited to Linux, Unix, version management with git and job schedulers with practical experience of leveraging the same during development.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Self-starter, take ownership and accountability in handling end-to-end SDLC development cycles

• Team player with strong attitude and work ethics.

• Strong oral and written communication skills. Applicant is expected to work with global teams and hence should be clear in both verbal and written communication.

• Raise to agile based demanding needs and fill in related roles like business intelligence administration and production support tasks as needed.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in using Power BI against Snowflake in Azure, Hadoop Big Data platform and NoSQL databases

• Exposure to using Power BI in integration with Power Apps and Power Platforms

• Certifications in one or more of Powe BI and Azure modules and SQL
