We are currently seeking an Assistant Controller based in Western Canada to lead our Accounts Payable and Accruals, and Inventory Processes remotely during this exciting period of the company’s business. The Assistant Controller will report to the Director of Financial Reporting and manage a team of approximately seven team members.
:

  • Supervision of all aspects of Accounts Payable and Accruals, and Inventory cycles
  • Lead the team to efficiently handle all accounting/finance matters
  • Review and approve payments, reconciliations, and journal entries
  • Analyzing and reporting cost variances
  • Problem-solve your way through dynamic tasks
  • Resolve complex issues with one-off transactions
  • Develop business relationships with suppliers and clients
  • Ability to work with and support others in the finance team
  • Establish and maintain internal controls
  • Implement system and process improvements where needed
  • Serving as liaison to external auditors
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:
  • University undergraduate degree in business or accounting
  • Designated CPA in good standing with 5 years post-qualification experience
  • Minimum 5 years of industry experience
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, and managing a diverse and remote team
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with Netsuite is considered an asset

Work Environment:
  • Hybrid - this position is remote with the opportunity to be in-office at our downtown Vancouver location if desired
