  • Managing all aspects of the daily airside de-icing operations as well as provide leadership and coaching to increase overall safety, performance, maintenance, reclamation operations, facility requirements and customer service;
  • Assist Station Manager with recruitment, onboarding, employee training and development for the station;
  • Verify certifications of all new and returning staff and ensure they receive all operational training, recurrent training, and Health and Safety training;
  • Administer personnel documents, manage employee issues, and submit all required documents to the Corporate Office for maintenance of employment files;
  • Performing regular employee evaluations and assessments;
  • Monitor operations and weather to determine necessary staffing levels, manage schedules for staff and delegate, realign and cross train staff to improve productivity;
  • Provide training to all employees in the proper operations of Glycol Recovery Vehicle (GRV) Operations, fluid transfer procedures, and valve management procedures;
  • Assist in implementing and following up on procedures to maximize production in a cost efficient manner;
  • Work with the Station Manager in planning, implementing and supervising a regular program of maintenance of all airside equipment;
  • Complete any and all maintenance upgrades recommended by engineering;
  • Foster communications between shift changes that ensure current machine conditions are brought to the attention and acknowledgement by the on coming crew utilizing the pass down log book or verbally;
  • Monitor the monthly budget and provide budgetary input to assist in the preparation of the annual budget;
  • Ensure all reporting; record keeping, and communications are complete, accurate and timely as per company policies;
  • Develop, maintain and ensure that employees follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS) and that Inland Equipment Operator\'s are in compliance with environmental laws, guidelines and reporting;
  • Be alert and aware of other apron traffic, and to only begin de-icing/reclamation when it can be done safely without interfering with aircraft movement. AIRCRAFT ALWAYS HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY;
  • Assist with semi-annual site inventory;
Please Note: This position requires a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) and an Airside Vehicle Operators Permit (AVOP).
Qualifications:
  • Successful completion of post-secondary education in Aviation Management, Business Management or a related field of study considered an asset;
  • Five (5) years of airline operational experience including but not limited to customer service, maintenance, de-icing operations, facility requirements and safety/regulatory requirements;
  • At least one (1) year of previous supervisory and/or management experience;
  • Knowledge of regulatory and airline policies, warehouse procedures, operating station equipment, and aircraft handling procedures;
  • Flexible schedule;
  • Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel);
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to listen to others and value opinions, interpret information, promote and execute ideas, prepare reports and presentations, lead groups and provide foundation of open communication;
  • Valid drivers license;
  • Willing to learn new skills and adapt to change in order to support the growth of the company and meet needs of customers.
