Elections New Brunswick Administrative Support Officer Full-time position Pay Band 02 Fredericton Elections New Brunswick is searching for an individual who would enjoy a meaningful and rewarding career in the support and advancement of our strategic objectives. This opportunity is for a full-time, permanent position, located on the north side of Fredericton. As the Administrative Support Officer, you will report to the Manager of Corporate Services. You will provide a variety of administrative support services to the office, including but not limited to:
  • Providing bilingual reception services.
  • Providing confidential administrative support, including formatting and proofreading correspondence; processing mail; making photocopies; and preparing materials for meetings.
  • Maintaining office equipment, workstation inventory, and office supplies.
  • Processing employment applications received through the Elections NB website.
  • Maintaining electoral field staff contact information.
  • Updating the register of electors.
  • Maintaining and publishing the legislated registries of political entities.
  • Processing the receipt of financial returns and maintaining online filing status reports.
  • Printing and scanning documents in support of the government\'s Fusion accounts payable system.
  • Managing documents according to records management policy and legislative requirements
Applicants must clearly demonstrate the following essential qualifications and competencies to be given further consideration. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A high school diploma supplemented by one year of post-secondary education in a related field.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of related work experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
  • Written and spoken competence in English and French. Please state your language capability on your application and identify your preferred language for assessment.

  • Ability to use office technology, software, and applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to have demonstrated one or more of the following asset qualifications in order to be given further consideration. ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate:
  • Experience working within a government organization.
  • Experience working with database applications.
  • Experience working with a records management system.
Salary: $45,032 - $62,868 annually (Pay Band 2 - Management and Non-Union Pay Plan), based on 36.25 hours per week. Please ensure your application is submitted no later than April 14, 2023.
