Job Description

BCCA-Integrating Newcomers (BCCA-IN) is looking for a dynamic, versatile, highly organized and computer literate team player to support the IN Program.






Due to operational constraints, we can only consider candidates who are located in BC, or SK. We are unable to hire from outside of Canada at this time.

Our program is funded by Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada. The pre-arrival, pan-Canadian service helps high-skilled newcomers build successful construction careers in any city, province, or territory. About the role



Reports to the Program Manager, under the functional supervision of the Data Coordinator.






As an administrative assistant you will :


Provide direct administrative support to the Data Coordinator Handle client applications and partner referrals Maintain correspondence templates Manage, organize and sort emails and client enquiries Confirm and verify client eligibility for IN program Monitor database and client files to report anomalies for the Data Coordinator to follow up Register clients for training and workshops when required Serve as a back-up for data entry work in the government database and client registration as required Provide ad hoc administrative support to IN projects working independently and within a team Participate in team events and meetings Perform other duties as needed and directed by leadership and team




You will be joining a team with multi-industry and immigration experience who have built successful careers in Canada and are committed to providing practical advice to make the process easier for incoming professionals.




Your skills





As an Administrative assistant, you will have/bring:






Post-secondary education Office administration experience Professional and friendly attitude Versatile skills required to adapt to a variety of tasks

Strong written and oral communicator

Ability to work with minimal supervision

Experience working with new Canadians is an asset

Personal experience as a newcomer to Canada is an asset

Knowledge of French is an asset but not a requirement

The Administrative Assistant will be working independently anywhere within BC or SK and reporting to the Program Manager at another location. The position requires self-initiative, attention to detail, organization and discipline to achieve program targets.




Location





Head office for the BC Construction Association is Victoria, BC with staff and programs operated out of several regional construction association offices across the province. The BCCA-Integrating Newcomers team currently works remotely, serving clients planning on landing and living in any location across Canada.






Terms of employment






This is a part-time position. (25 hours per week, 5h a day, start and end time flexible).


BCCA considers the health and safety of each of our employees to be of primary importance. Our objective is to conduct our business in the safest possible manner consistent with the Occupational Health & Safety Act, applicable regulations, and good human resource practices.





Given the nature of the position, various locations across BC or SK can be considered, and the successful candidate will be working from home, but periodic in-office time may be requested depending on location.






This position is currently funded to March 31, 2025, and we anticipate a renewal of funding until March 31, 2028.
