Position
: Accountants Payable Clerk
The Jr. Accountants Payable Clerk would be responsible for maintaining, acquiring and processing invoices, assisting in the reconciliation of accounts, paying or receiving payments from vendors or any other third party related to the organization.
You would be responsible for:
Job Functions:
The day-to-day tasks include matching, coding and entering high volume of invoices.
Verifying and posting daily accounting transactions and entries in the system.
Scheduling payments and disbursement for vendors including wire payments.
Completing payments and controlling expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.
Ensuring outstanding balances are updated with credit memos that are due.
Reconciling processed work by verifying entries and creating reports comparing system reports to balances.
Preparing monthly reconciliation for vendor's accounts and ensuring payments are made in a timely manner.
Creating reports such as PO accrual and AP distribution for senior management.
Review invoices for appropriate documentation and where relevant match corresponding packing slips, purchase orders and check requests.
Maintaining records and files of invoices, reports, receipts, cheques, payments, etc.
Assisting with other duties that may be assigned.
Qualifications:
Diploma/Certificate in accounting or any other related discipline, working towards a certificate/diploma or relevant experience.
Minimum of 1-2 years experience in accounts payable.
Excellent communication (verbal and written), organizational, interpersonal and analytical skills.
Excellent time management and ability to complete a high volume of tasks within tight deadlines.
Intermediate to Advance knowledge of excel (Pivots , lookup, Sorting, etc.)
Strong attention to detail.
Knowledge of Great Plains is considered an asset.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
