Torcan Lift Equipment is seeking to hire a full time, permanent accounts payable clerk. Our team is looking for a driven, independent, and knowledgeable individual who is ready to grow and excel in their career!

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the accounts payable clerk is responsible for performing data entry and related duties in disbursing accounts payable to the company's vendors. This includes maintaining ledgers, credit balances, and reconciling account irregularities. The A/P Clerk will also ensure the timely and accurate processing of payment documents such as purchase orders, employee expense reimbursements, and any other accounting transactions related to A/P management.

The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, strong communication skills and an understanding of accounting principles. Hourly wage will be determined based on the candidate's experience.

Responsibilities:

Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner. Matching vendor invoices to purchase orders. Reconciling A/P subledger to vendor statements. Processing and reconciling credit card transactions. Preparing schedules for cheque, EFT, wire and credit card payment. Preparing schedules detailing expenses. Preparing schedules of employee expense reimbursements. Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in the company's accounting software. Respond to inquiries from vendors. Perform other office duties as required. Provide support to other members of the accounting and finance team as needed. Provide support to other members of the rentals, service and training teams as needed.
Qualifications:

Post secondary degree in accounting or business administration is preferred. At least 2 years of experience in accounting or finance. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
