, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, payments, and expense transactions across our group of automotive dealerships. Operating within a
centralized accounting office (Office operating out of CMP Autmotive )
, you will support multiple
OEM and non-franchise locations
across Canada, maintaining compliance with company policies and accounting best practices. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage high transaction volumes will directly support the financial health and operational efficiency of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Process vendor invoices, ensuring proper coding, approval, and posting to the correct dealership and general ledger accounts.
Review and reconcile vendor statements, resolve discrepancies, and maintain accurate accounts payable records.
Prepare and process electronic fund transfers (EFT), wire payments, and cheques according to company payment schedules.
Verify pricing, quantities, and purchase order accuracy against supporting documents from dealership locations.
Manage expense reimbursements and ensure adherence to company policy.
Collaborate with dealership management teams to address invoice issues or missing documentation.
Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals and account reconciliations.
Maintain vendor master files, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date.
Support the Controller with ad hoc financial and administrative tasks as needed.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and audit requirements.
All other duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications and Skills
Education:
Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience in an accounts payable or accounting support role.
Automotive dealership or multi-entity accounting experience is highly preferred.
Familiarity with
dealer management systems (DMS)
such as CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, PBS, or Serti is an asset.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle high transaction volumes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with multiple dealership teams.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
