About Uplift Summer Camp

:

The Uplift Summer Camp, hosted by Oasis of Grace Family and Multicultural Centre, is a transformative program dedicated to fostering skill development, personal growth, and community engagement among youth.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Assistant to manage the financial records of our camp operations during the summer.

The Accounting Assistant will oversee the camp's financial transactions, including camper fees, supplies, and staff payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance. The role requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in accounting software, and a commitment to supporting the camp's mission through effective financial management.

Key Responsibilities

:

Maintain accurate records of financial transactions, including weekly camper fees and staff wages. Process payments and prepare daily reports on cash transactions, deposits, and other financial activities, ensuring alignment with organizational policies. Assist in preparing financial reports (e.g., expense summaries, budget status) for the Camp Coordinator. Enter financial data into QuickBooks or similar accounting software, ensuring timely and precise record-keeping. Handle invoices and support bank deposits with proper documentation. Assist with payroll preparation for staff members, ensuring accurate calculations and record-keeping. Support grant writing efforts for camp funding. Provide administrative support, such as organizing financial documents and assisting with grant or donor reports. Ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures to maintain accountability and integrity. Support additional tasks related to financial administration or camp operations as needed.

Qualifications

:

A

degree in Accounting

or in the process of obtaining one. Proven experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial administration. Proficiency in accounting software particularly QuickBooks. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent organizational and communication skills, especially for financial reporting and grant writing. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment. Commitment to the mission and values of Oasis of Grace Family and Multicultural Centre. Must be a

Canadian citizen or permanent resident between the ages of 18 - 30
