Job Description
Childcare Volunteers assist staff in providing high quality care for children aged 2-12Y by helping monitor safety and engaging children through play in our Child Development Centre.
Responsibilities:
Actively and enthusiastically participate with children 2-12Y. Encourage a positive play-based environment for children. Help plan and implement age-appropriate, play-based activities. Greet parents and children in a friendly and welcoming manner. Help ensure the safety of all children in the childcare facility by being aware of situations and the environment. Assist with basic cleaning such as wiping tables and sweeping floors. Be enthusiastic and welcoming!
Work Term:
September - June. Evenings and weekends 2 shifts/week. Shifts are 2-3 hours long
Qualifications/ Skills Required:
Between 13 and 17 years of age. Completion of minimum of Emergency First Aid with CPR C. Completion of Volunteer Training - Provided by Westside. * Ability to engage with children 2-12Y.
