Collaborate in developing a work plan that is culturally relevant, appropriate, and effective for strengthening connections with adolescents and young adults in Labrador.
Implement health and social development activities for youth ages 11-24 using art, culture and technology.
Facilitate the delivery of sexual health, harm reduction, and related wellness education.
Provide opportunities for learning, career exploration, community building and recreation.
Develop and implement online activities, events and campaigns for social media platforms.
Organize capacity-building initiative to uplift Indigenous youth voices
Identify and develop effective partnerships and networks among community-based service providers and public health.
Implement, and modify as needed, the project evaluation plan and work with an external evaluator to ensure objectives are met.
Make recommendations for budget and funding submissions after consultation with the Executive Director and/or Youth Programs Manager of the Friendship Centre.
Complete monthly, annual progress reporting and final evaluation reporting.
Represent the program in a professional manner, as a public ambassador to partners, government and communities.
Travel as required.
Training and in-service as required.
Other related duties.
Qualifications:
Post-secondary graduate in Community Studies or health related field, or a combination of work-related experience and training.
Two years' experience in a related field in health or social program delivery.
Experience in the delivery of cultural programs.
Understanding of social and cultural barriers affecting people living with HIV, HCV or other sexually transmitted blood borne infections.
Excellent communication, organizational, and computer skills.
Understanding of the social and cultural barriers faced by Labrador's Indigenous people.
Must provide a satisfactory Certificate of Conduct including a Vulnerable Sector Check.
Valid Class 5 driver's license
Assets:
Knowledge of Labrador's Indigenous cultures.
Ability to speak a Labrador Indigenous language.

Salary:
$ 27.30 per hour plus benefits

35 hours per week.
