What you\'ll do

IDEA School of Design builds students\' skills in visual communication design, illustration, branding, interactive design, art direction, UI (user interface), and UX (user experience), editorial design, publishing, digital media, character design, storyboard art, environmental design, web/app design and more.

IDEA graduates are working in a wide range of fields at many top studios and agencies in Vancouver and around the world. Others have gone on to form startup companies and successful freelance careers.

We are looking for an instructor to teach a 4 day workshop as part of a term-long course, \xe2\x80\x9cVisual Communication Workshops II\xe2\x80\x9d.

The scope of work is as follows:

• Develop and teach a 4-day workshop, \xe2\x80\x9cContent Strategy\xe2\x80\x9d (Feb 2, 9, 16, Mar 1 2024) to third-year students in the Bachelor of Design in Visual Communication program (e.g. website design, creative marketing campaign, etc.);
• Design, administer, and grade one project worth 33% of the course grade;
• Undertake a student-oriented approach to education and provide a safe and welcoming class environment;
• Instruct, motivate, and provide critical and constructive feedback to students

What you\'ll bring

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven professional experience (i.e. portfolio) demonstrating technical and conceptual experience in content strategy as related to communication design;
• Master\'s degree is an asset;
• Capacity to assess and advise students at every stage of a content strategy project through clear communication;
• Well-versed in Mac environment;
• Organized, flexible, and supportive of students\' learning
