The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team takes a leadership role in creating a culture of collaboration with a focus on team-based care, evidence-informed practice, and learning and professional development to improve health outcomes for patients, families and communities. Through strong partnerships with the academic sector, regulators, and government, the Interprofessional Practice and Learning team has an integral role in influencing and operationalizing health system priorities.About the OpportunityTeam members with the designation of Simulation and Clinical Learning Instructor (SCLI) are responsible for advancing the mission of Nova Scotia Health and Dalhousie University, Faculty of Health, and the School of Nursing by creating evidence-informed learning environments in the Clinical Learning and Simulation Centre (CLSC), and clinical practice settings and by administrative service and engaging in quality improvement activities. SCLIs must apply for, and obtain, adjunct status with Dalhousie University School of Nursing. Nova Scotia Health provides sustainable safe and high-quality health services that are accessible, people-centred, promote health and wellness and optimize the health of all Nova Scotians.The SCLI is responsible for participating in curricula and program development that reflect health care trends and for planning, implementing, and evaluating student learning experiences in the CLSC and clinical practices areas that are used in the BScN Program. These activities are to be consistent with the curriculum, values, and strategic plan of the Dalhousie University School of Nursing and Nova Scotia Health. Through education and clinical practice, the SCLI promote the advancement of professional nursing practice. The 0.5 FTE position is an annual 50% position, meaning that the weekly hours range from month to month. During active clinical practice rotations, the CSLI will work 37.5 hours per week for a range of 2 to 4 weeks. During learning in the CLSC, the CSLI will work 2-3 days per week.
